1/31/2012 - Featured Font: HFF Pessoas Lindas

I'm doing a weekly feature on the Albums to Remember Designs FB page. "Featured Font" - I love fonts and like most of you, I search the free sites for every font I could possibly dream of. And yet, I still see a font on someone's page and have to ask what it is and where they got it! So, I decided to grab some of my favorites and feature them so others can enjoy them as well.

This week's featured font is "HFF Pessoas Lindas". I love this font as it's a nice handwriting style font for journaling, but has a little flair to it. Not only is it great for journaling, but it makes a pretty word art or title as well.

Do You P52??? (or P635?)....and a freebie!!!

Some great news for your project 52 and 365 folks! First there are a new set of My Memories Page Builders from Albums to Remember Designs. She has packaged them up into bundles for extra savings as well. But what's really great is she has a set of P52 styled Page Builders also!!

They are great!! I did a page using Aqua Bliss and one of the P52 page builders and let me tell you, it was super quick and easy to pull together!!!

There will be a new P52 themed kit released this week to both My Memories and Memory Mixer. This kit will coordinate perfectly with "All In A Day", "Pink Bliss" and "Black Bliss". Together you will have one super huge kit that will be your next "GoTo" kit for nearly all of your scrapping needs!

And now...to the freebie!!! If you haven't done so already, head on over to Albums to Remember Designs and "Like" the FB page. In the Exclusive Fan Freebie tab on the left, you'll find a fun little QP that I made using the Black Bliss and bits from the All in a Day kits.

Missy's Bit's Speed Scrap Jan 25, 2011

I've been slowly working through several of the old photos my mother had scanned. Most of the pages are of my brother and I as kids. I'll eventually work into some of her older photos as well as those of my grandparents and my uncles. I find that the speed scraps and challenges help me to accomplish pages I would normally not set time aside to work on, since most of my scrapping is for my family's annual album.

Anyway, long winded...but here is the page from the speed scrap that Kara from Missy's Bits hosted on their FB page.

Kit is: "Sweet Neapolitan" and "Sweet Neapolitan Add-On" also by Missy's Bits.

Challenges!!!

I was on a frenzy last week of Challenges. I did several from Pickleberry Pop, a couple from My Memories and one from Memory Mixer.

First off...Pickleberry Pop challenges -

1. Scraplift Challenege - I used "Sweet Lilac" by Fayette Designs.
2. Recipe Challenge - the Challenge was to use 1 paper, 1 photo, 1 frame, 1 word art and 1 embellishment. If you know me...I LOVE my embellies...so it was a challenge for sure. I LOVE how it turned out, though. Kit is "If My Heart Could Speak" by Fayette Designs.
3. All About Me Challenge - this was a challenge to reflect on 2011. This is one of my favorites so far! I used Jumpstart Designs Template 4-c and Kit is "Bucket of Blue" by Lara's Digi World (part of the 1st EVER Pickle Barrel!!!)

My Memories Challenges - these were 2 speed scraps. One from Sunday night and the other from Thursday afternoon. Loved that they had another during the week!

1. Speed Scrap 1/15/2012 - Kit is "Frosted" by Mandy King and Saxon Holt
2. Speed Scrap 1/19/2012 - Several kits went into this...Mainly "Classic Collection 1" by Laura Burger and Sapphire and Steel and "Amethyst Charm" both by Loucee.

And finally, from Memory Mixer - an online crop. Super fun and enjoyed interacting with the folks on FB.

Page Builders!! Photo-Only-Layouts with a PUNCH!

The photo-only layouts for My Memories are a great way to get started. But they lack a little something extra. The templates (Quick Mixes for Memory Mixer folks) are also a great start, but tend to limit your creativity to the designer's style and/or kit being used. Page Builders (the genius idea from Barb at Albums to Remember Designs) is the best of both worlds. They are like Photo-Only layouts with a PUNCH! They have added shapes to them, so you can add papers easily and quickly. They have shape placeholders so you can see where you may be likely to put some embellishments or clusters. Similar to the PSD templates for Photoshop. Only these require the use of My Memories Suite.

Freebie so you can try it: HERE!!!

Here is the page set I made with the freebie:

Kit is "All in a Day - Pink Bliss"

Kit is "Winter Fun Pack"

Small Changes Challenge from My Memories...

It's been a while since I posted, or participated in a challenge. I've been fairly busy recovering from the flu and helping my family recover. That was a doosie!!! Anyway, the latest challenge was Small Changes...when you do small changes on a regular basis, it adds up to a very large change! So...as one of my resolutions was to downsize...I figured I would be more likely to downsize if I did it in small increments. Here's the page I came up with.

Kit: Le Diva - Crazy 4 Monograms

After scrapping with this kit, I have to say it is one of my new favorites! I had a blast scrapping this page! :)
